It must have been destiny to have
someone to follow, come next after the
victory of Sarah Geronimo. Noticeably
and equally a person of genuine talent,
Rachelle Ann Go had to absorb everything
a winner usually bears with. First there
was Sarah, who in time of Rachelle’s
victory has already been a name in the
music industry. Where to go next must
have spelled uncertainty, for it was
only then that her journey should begin,
after the accolade poured in the night
she was declared Search For A Star Grand
Champion. She had yet to prove a lot,
make a name for herself.
Soon after, Rachelle only
had to be better, work harder to achieve
more. There, she has ushered herself
into the league of champions, at least
alongside Sarah Geronimo and Erik
Santos.
Releasing an album from
Viva Records, Rachelle began to endear
herself to people. A platinum record
award must have really been packaged to
go with hits distinct of her—Don’t Cry
Out Loud, Love Of My Life, and Here I Am
Again. She has either proven she’s a
champion in the concert scene, with her
solo act at the Aliw Theater and her
numerous performances abroad. Add to
that her recent victory at the
Kazakhstan Songfest where she performed
Isang Lahi and her triumph in last
year’s Shanghai Music Festival wehre she
sang From The Start, a radio hit track
also included in her self-titled album.
Her certified pop artistry has also been
recognized by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial
Scholarship Foundation and MTV
Pilipinas.
With a new album to be
released in a few months, Rachelle
doesn’t have to go under any pressure,
nor does she have to be disheartened by
her detractors. She has indeed made a
name for herself. With that she just
became stronger, more eager to be
blessed with a lot more. She has words
to say why Mariah Carey’s Can’t Take
That Away is her life’s theme. “Nu’ng
nagsisimula pa lang ako sa contest, I
got discouragements from people. Now I
realized nothing can ever put me down.”
