Here is another story of
hard-earned victory. Together with his
father, Jerome would travel to nearby
towns to join singing contests. Having
no relatives there, they would at times
end up sleeping in waiting sheds and
churches after the competition.
Right after a motorcycle
accident he and his father met on their
way to another singing contest, Jerome
had to sing before a panel of judges
with a wounded face.
He had to endure the
pains caused by the experience and he
had to go through series of perspiring
queues before getting to the Search For
The Star In A Million. When the chance
came, he again had to suffer probably
what Erik Santos had to go through
before seeing the light of a second
chance. Only a wild card contender,
Jerome has eventually emerged as the
grand champion.
The championship title
has brought Jerome into the world of the
icons he has always looked up to. Star
Records has recently released his first
album that carries his winning piece
Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo and One In A Million
You, the song he has always sung since
his school days. He has done concerts
here and overseas and is now part of
ASAP ’05. He is presently enjoying the
blessings he rightfully deserves.
Not used to the grueling
and very public nature of his new world,
the humble native of Bohol only has
great words about what has remarkably
come his way. “Nakakapagod pero okay
lang kasi pangarap ko ito, eh.
Nag-e-enjoy ako kasi mahal ko ang
ginagawa ko.”
