From a very frustrating defeat in Star
In A Million came the twist that amassed
a number of good things for Erik Santos.
His journey to his dreams that began
from being a talent search hopeful had
to trod into a biting frustration. Given
a second chance, he gave his best and
was able to push himself towards the
toughest battle he had to survive over a
pool of high-caliber competitors. From
then on, he has been an epitome of a
dreamer who gives out everything on
stage. Everyone was witness to that
winning performance he had to share.
That Broadway song, This Is The Moment,
has brought Erik into the circle of
artists being looked up to by many. Erik
is now an OPM artist identified with his
own style. A number of hit songs he has
to sing from the heart of a true
champion—I Believe I Can Fly, Pagbigyang
Muli, Di Ko Kaya, Kung Akin Ang Mundo,
Now That I Have You, I’ll Never Go,
Who’s Loving You Now and I Will Never
Leave You, his single from his latest
album Loving You Now, which also carries
Bakit Ba Iniibig Ka (duet with Regine
Velasquez), Mystery (composed by Martin
Nievera), and Goodbye Is Not Forever (an
Ella Mae Saison original and composed by
Vehnee Saturno), among others.
Awit, Aliw, Star Awards
and the Philippines Association of
Record Industry (PARI) that gave him
platinum record awards fro the
outstanding sales of his album, have
also recognized Erik’s artistry. He is
also one performer who consistently wows
the crowd in his concerts here and
abroad.
Just like Sarah, Erik
never fails to give honor to his family.
It is one of the reasons why he can only
count blessings.
Having started only two
years ago, Erik was able to build a
house he has always wanted for his
family. To which he remarks, “Pag
malungkot ako, titingin lang ako sa
bahay parang napapawi na ‘yung lungkot.”
This must be something that pushes Erik
to be tougher and passionate about the
dream he has come to achieve, and the
farther distance he is bound to reach.
